WEAVING IDENTITY
Venue Art Space, Taipei, Taiwan,2017
Solo Exhibition
The concept idea is from my personal story of questioning my self-identity of East and West culture. Inspired by Jean Baudrillard's theory「Simulacra and Simulation」and「Le Système des Objets」 , presume one imaginary object is an "identity model", deconstructing and convert to another similar model and goes on, generates a series of identity model system. The sculptures are made of “PP-PE Textile” that represents Taiwan culture. It is a special textile for keeping the rice and replaced in the kitchen, which
also the memory of my childhood in Taiwan and connects me back to original roots.
